Kharkhorin

Kharkhorin is famed for its past life as the 13th century capital of the Mongol Empire: Karkorum. Nothing remains of Karakorum but a few turtle rocks marking the boundaries of the ancient city, however Kharkhorin is home to Erdene Zuu one of Mongolia's most important active monasteries.
