Torugart Pass and Naryn
Naryn was our first stop in Kyrgyzstan after crossing the Torugart Pass from Kashgar, China. Naryn is a small town with tree-lined streets, Soviet looking buildings and a population that is 99% Kyrgyz. It is known throughout Kyrgyzstan as the producer of the finest shrydaks (felt rugs).
