Pushkar
Pushkar is a small desert town right in the middle of Rajasthan. The evidence of the droves of Western tourists who descend here (and seem to stay for a long time) is evident in the stores selling hippie garb, jewelry and second-hand books. The small town of 14,000 people even supports three falafel stands. Despite the tourism, the town, centred around the Pushkar Holy Lake is extremely laid back and hassle free and locals didn't seem too interested in our presence. A lovely place!
