Shimla
Shimla was the end point of our journey through the Spiti and Kinnaur Valleys. Although fairly crowded with tourists escaping the scorching summer heat of the central Indian plains, we found it easy to relax. The main strip of boutiques and restaurants is a pedestrianized walk way called "the Ridge". We left the city on the toy train connecting Shimla to Kalka via a winding route through the picturesque Himalayan foothills.
