Kashgar
Kashgar, an oasis in the far west of China was a city on the old silk route. It is the main hub for travel to Pakistan and Kyrgyzstan and sees a lot of travellers for its famous Sunday Market. The market was somewhat of a disappointment, but we still enjoyed walking through the Old City (at prayer time, so it was totally empty), sampling Uyghur cuisine (bread, noodles and kebabs) and indulging in beer and Chinese food.
